Highlights
This document is a concept note for an interagency Syria crisis child protection regional workshop for 3RP countries organized in 2016.
In its sixth year, the conflict in Syria continues to take a drastic toll on the lives Syrians and to drive an unprecedented humanitarian and protection crisis. Limited access to education for Syrian refugees together with increasing levels of poverty for many refuge families heighten the risk that children will be involved in various forms of hazardous child labour and child marriage. Children continue to face physical, sexual and other forms of gender-based violence within their families, schools and communities.
The purpose of the workshop was to strengthen child protection response to the Syria crisis with a focus on community based child protection and psychosocial support, specialised child protection services and child labour.
