No Lost Generation advocacy brief

No Lost Generation

Highlights

In preparation of the Brussels Conference held in June 2020, the No Lost Generation initiative prepared an advocacy brief regarding the Syrian crisis, highlighting the major needs of Syrian children refugees or internally displaced, in the context of the Covid-19 crisis. Recommendations underlined the urgent need to invest in education and learning, to protect children, adolescents and youth from violence, exploitation and abuse, to invest in their Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) wellness and to foster their engagement, participation and inclusion.

While some progress has been made, immense challenges remain and a sustained response to the plight of Syrian children, as well as Palestinian refugee children from Syria, is more necessary than ever. The conflict continues to claim lives, many of whom are children or young people, compromising the future of next generations of children.
